Privacy policy

This page explains which personal data we process when you use this website and its features, why we do it, on which legal basis, and which rights you have.

In short: we use no analytics or advertising services, set no cookies for visitors and load nothing from third-party servers when you open a page.

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. With every request the server automatically stores information that your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the requested page or file, the previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system, the amount of data transferred and the status code.

We need this information to deliver the website, to keep it secure and stable, and to find errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in this (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are only kept as long as needed for these purposes and are then deleted. We have a data processing agreement with the host (Art. 28 GDPR).

Encryption

The website is encrypted with TLS – you can see this by “https://” in the address bar. What you send through the forms cannot be read by third parties on the way.

Cookies and browser storage

This website sets no cookies for visitors and stores nothing else in your browser. The language comes from the address (German under /de/). That is why there is no cookie banner. Only administrators who log in to WordPress receive technically necessary login cookies.

Fonts and links to other websites

All fonts are served from our own server; opening a page does not connect to Google or any other provider. Links to TradingView or other websites are ordinary links: data only reaches the other provider when you click a link. Their privacy policy applies there.

Free trial of the indicators

When you request a free trial (30 days), we store your TradingView username, your email address, the language of the website, the time of the request and a non-reversible hash of your IP address. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the trial) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (protection against abuse, one trial per account).

We add your username to the access list of the invite-only scripts on TradingView (TradingView, Inc.) and remove it when the trial ends. By email you only receive messages about your trial (confirmation link, activation, a reminder shortly before the end, end of trial). Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 48 hours. We keep completed trials so that each account can only test once; we delete them on request.

If you reach the form through the indicator finder, we also store with your request which indicators it suggested to you. We do not store your answers in the finder itself – they are only part of the link in your browser.

Survey before the trial ends

Shortly before your trial ends, our reminder email may contain a personal link to a short survey. If you fill it in, we store your answers together with your trial (TradingView username, tested indicators, language) and, as a thank you, extend your trial once by 30 days. We do not publish the answers; we only evaluate them to improve the indicators. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (extending the trial) and our legitimate interest in improving the indicators (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Taking part is voluntary; on request we delete your answers.

Trial area and invitations

A personal link in our emails opens your trial area (no password). It only shows data from your trial: time left, unlocked indicators, survey and invite link. Please do not share this link.

Every tester gets a personal invite link with a random code. If someone starts a trial through this link, we store the connection between both trials to grant the extra days (14 days each) and to prevent abuse (for this we compare email address, TradingView username and the non-reversible hash of the IP address). No cookies are set; the code is only part of the link. The inviting person learns neither the name nor the email address of the invited person, only the number. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (running the trial including the bonus).

If you sign up through a partner's link or bonus code (for example a creator's), we store which code you came through in order to give you the extra days. The partner only sees numbers (sign-ups and activations), no names or email addresses.

Partner links to TradingView

Links from our website to TradingView (TradingView, Inc.) may be partner links. They contain our partner ID (aff_id). Our website stores nothing about you and sets no cookie for this. Only when you click the link and go to TradingView's site can TradingView read the ID to attribute a commission; TradingView's privacy policy applies there. If you take out a subscription through it, we receive a commission – the price stays the same for you.

Creator applications

If you apply on the "For creators" page, we store your name or channel name, your email address, your platform and the link to your profile, your optional details (reach, language of your content, wished code, message), the language of the website, the time and a non-reversible hash of your IP address. We only use this data to review your application and, if it fits, to send you your code and the link to your statistics page. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (preparing a cooperation) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (preventing abuse). We delete declined applications after 180 days at the latest and accepted ones as long as the cooperation runs; on request we delete them immediately.

Front row (news about new indicators)

You can join the "front row" with an optional tick box in the trial form (you are only added once you have confirmed your email address) or via a personal link in our reminder email or the email at the end of your trial. We then store your email address, your TradingView username, the indicators you tested, the language and the time you joined. We only use this data to tell you how Albrecht Edge continues (for example new indicators or the permanent version). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can leave at any time via the link on the confirmation page or by replying to one of our emails; we then delete your entry.

Feedback after the trial

When your trial ends, our email contains a personal link to a short feedback form. If you use it, we store your rating and your answers together with your trial (TradingView username, tested indicators, language). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the indicators (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Taking part is voluntary.

If you allow us to quote you, we show your rating, your answer to “What worked well” and the name you chose on this website after reviewing it. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time, for example by replying to any of our emails; we then remove the quote. We keep feedback until you ask us to delete it.

Reviews of the indicators

When you review an indicator, we store your stars, your comment, the name you chose, optionally your TradingView username, the language, the time and a non-reversible hash of your email address and your IP address. We do not store the email address itself; we only use it once to send you the confirmation link. Unconfirmed reviews are deleted after 48 hours.

After you confirm it and we have checked it, we show the stars, the comment, the name and – if given – the TradingView username on this website. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time, for example via the contact page; we then delete the review.

Newsletter

For the newsletter we store your email address, your language, the time and wording of your consent and a non-reversible hash of your IP address. Your subscription only becomes active when you click the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 7 days, unsubscribed addresses after 30 days.

After confirming, you can download a trading journal as a thank-you. No further data is stored for this; the download link works as long as you are subscribed.

Tools in your browser (calculator, Albrecht Labs)

The position size calculator, the Daily Chart Challenge and the risk simulator run entirely in your browser. So that you can continue on your next visit, the calculator stores your last inputs, the challenge stores your answers, your streak and your hit rate, and the TradingView guide stores the ticked items of its checklist in your browser's local storage (localStorage). This data is not sent to us.

If you close a campaign banner, your browser also remembers this in local storage so it does not show again. This is not sent to us either.

Storing it is necessary for the function you use (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the data at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser.

So that you can see how others answered, our server anonymously counts which option was chosen for the daily challenge question. Only the number of votes per option is stored – not who chose it. To stop anyone from distorting the statistics by voting repeatedly, we create a one-way hash from your IP address, the question and the date and keep it for at most 24 hours; the IP address itself is not stored. In the same way, the server anonymously counts how many questions were answered correctly in the TradingView guide quiz – only how often each score was reached is stored; for this, the hash is created from your IP address and the date. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in meaningful, unmanipulated statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Update notifications for indicators

When you ask for update notifications on an indicator page, we store your email address, the indicator, your language, the time and wording of your consent and a non-reversible hash of your IP address. Your request only becomes active when you click the link in our confirmation email (double opt-in). You then only get emails about updates to this indicator.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the link in every update email; your address is then deleted immediately. Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days.

Contact form

When you write to us through the contact form, we store your name, email address, topic and message as well as a non-reversible hash of your IP address in order to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). You receive a short confirmation by email. Messages are deleted after 12 months at the latest.

Sending of emails

We send all emails of this website (confirmation links, newsletters, replies to requests) through the mail servers of our hosting provider ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Your email address, the content of the email and technical delivery data are processed on our behalf (processing on behalf according to Art. 28 GDPR). We do not use tracking pixels in our emails and do not analyse opens or clicks.

Protection against abuse

The forms are protected against spam without cookies and without external captcha services. For this we use a non-reversible hash of your IP address, which is cached for at most one hour to limit the number of requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Recipients and transfers outside the EU

We only pass on personal data where this is needed for the purposes described: to our web host and our email service, both as processors, and – for the free trial – your TradingView username to TradingView, Inc. (USA). Adding it to the access list is necessary so you get the trial you asked for (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR). We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep data

The sections above say how long we keep each kind of data. Apart from that, we delete data as soon as it is no longer needed for its purpose and no legal retention period applies.

Your rights

You have the right to access your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

Right to object: where we process data based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

Just send us an email at info@albrechtedge.com. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example in the country where you live.

Providing data, no automated decisions

You are not obliged to give us any data. Without an email address and a TradingView username we cannot set up a trial, and without an email address we cannot send the newsletter or reply to you. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.
